Use the current map

The Consolidated Rules for 2026 bring updated terminology and requirements. Current planning separates certification type, class and path. Older articles may still use authorization, impact levels, Ready and JAB language. Recognize those terms, but check the current official route before acting.

Know the major milestones

  • New FedRAMP Ready submissions ended July 28, 2026.
  • The official timeline lists 20x Class A applications from August 3, 2026, and Class B and C applications from August 31, 2026.
  • January 1, 2027 is a broad mandatory-adoption milestone, with applicability and rule-specific effective dates.
  • June 11, 2027 is listed as the end of new Rev5 applications, not a universal expiry date for existing services.

These milestones are orientation only. They do not replace the type-specific transition tables or determine eligibility for a particular offering.

Check the right rules for your situation

Write down the offering, type, class, path and whether you are pursuing initial certification or maintaining an existing one. Use that profile to read the relevant deadline table. The official changelog includes later revisions, so avoid working from a copied table without rechecking it.
